Education is fostered through collaboration between the teacher, the student, the parents and the community. We are an early childhood school (3K-2nd) and work hard to build and promote a home/ school connection.

The superheroes of PS112 teach our students to "BEE" respectful, accountable, brave, cooperative and safe.
We offer a dual language (English/Spanish) program. We currently have 7 dual language classes in pre-K through second grade.our dual language program promotes the development of grade level appropriate bilingual and bi-literate academic skills in English and Spanish.
Students at PS112 have strong opinions and voices. Some classes began a school wide bottle and can collection to raise money for different causes. One class raised money to help save endangered sea turtles. They raised enough money to adopt a sea turtle through the World Wildlife Fund. Another class raised over $1000 to assist the children in Ukraine through The Global Fund for Children.
Our young mathematicians are immersed in constructive learning experiences where they inquire, formulate hypothesis, and explain their thinking using mathematical reasoning.
At PS112 we are a family. We work closely with our families, parents, and community to build a collaborative and trusting relationship. We work together to ensure quality and effective education for every one of our scholars. We host many family events like our pajama movie nights.
We are privileged to have American Jazz Pianist and Composer, Erik Plaks, lead our music department. Students learn about rhythm and beats, music from countries around the world, and how to play instruments.
In an early childhood school, developmentally appropriate literacy instruction through a balanced approach is pivotal to ensure we foster lifelong readers, who read for pleasure as well as information. We plan for 120 minutes of explicit and integrated literacy instruction.
Physical education thrives at PS112. The students participate in student/staff volley ball games, Road Runners Mighty Milers program, tennis on Randalls Island, obstacle courses and much more!
At PS112 we celebrate, value, and learn about different cultures all around the world through literacy as well as our within our arts program. At the end of each year, we culminate our multicultural learning through our biggest annual event, PS112's Carnival of Cultures. Get your passports ready!
We have our very own choreographer and dancer, Heather Panikkar, who performed with the Annabella Gonzalez Dance Theater teaching our students all about dance.
